Faroe Islands: Halfway between Norway and Iceland

Tórshavn
Capital of the Faroe Islands

Temperatures average above freezing throughout the year
 because of the Gulf Stream.

I have been to Faroe Islands two times.  These photos are from the last visit in 2015 on a cruise.

"DNA analyses have revealed that Y chromosomes, tracing male descent, are 87% Scandinavian.[49] The studies show that mitochondrial DNA, tracing female descent, is 84% Celtic."

"Genome research in the Faroe Islands

Some hereditary conditions are more common in the Faroe Islands than elsewhere.
This is due to the country’s remote location and the fact that most Faroese people are the descendants of relatively few original settlers.
Gene testing has confirmed that the Faroese population can be considered a genetically isolated population, which is very interesting in the context of genetics research.
All Faroese people are registered in the so-called Genealogy Registry, which is a family tree of the Faroese people dating all the way back to the 17thcentury."

I walked all over this area. It was very interesting

Other than Vatican City this may be smallest national capital in the world.
