First visit with Bredesen clinic

My first visit to a clinic that employs the

 Bredesen ReCode treatment for Alzheimer's.

I wonder if these crystals are
de rigueur in all
Holistic clinics

I drank the cool-aide.

I have criticized Dr. Bredesen's book:

 The End of Alzheimer's  here

My belief was to not chase false nostrums.

Spend your time enjoying your life

Now that I have done so well over the last 20 months I am more inclined to believe the Julie G case of Dr. Bredesen that she may be the first cure of Alzheimer's.

I also wanted to research what they are offering by doing it myself.

Expensive: $7,000 paid today for the package.

In truth I expected it to be much more.

Dr. Sandel said that it about twice that much in NYC or Chicago.

This price includes:

40 visits over a year a

Cognoscopy lab is included

(which was the main item I was interested in.

In fact, I thought that was all I would buy.  Instead, I drank the cool-aide and bought the whole package)

I have 3 neurologists in 2 states.

They are all good.

Dr. Swerdlow is excellent, but I only see him once a year.

I felt the need to have more care on a monthly basis.

Two years ago I argued that was unnecessary.

The sales pitch today was that the clinic would follow me monthly to monitor my progress and if I didn't improve they would take other measures.

They would do monthly lab work.

I decided it was time to get into a program like that especially since we will probably not travel again until 12 months from now due to COVID19. I desired a real hands-on approach. I suspect that my fourth year of Alzheimer's will be inexorable unless this program will change that. False Hope?

I would even be open to taking some of their exotic India and Chinese herbs.

I told Dr. Sandal that I had read the Bredesen book. Dr. Sandal was so personable that it helped persuade me to buy the package.  He was a great salesman

I was not interested in the diet they propose.

I have been on Atkins type diet since 2011 with subsequent nutritional ketosis.

I am married to it (my diet).  Dr. Sandal accepted that.

I wanted to know my cortisol levels as after 18 months of 14-hour fasting I was having anxiety.

Dr. Sandel said the increase in cortisol does happen with fasting and does result in anxiety especially in an Alzheimer's patient.

The increased cortisol resulted in my glucose going up at the end of a 14 hour fast.

Dr. Sandal is the first specialist (neurologist and endocrinologist) to agree with my assessment of my situation. That impressed me.

update trials of Alzheimers

The best part of the day is when I have a bowel movement.   Recently started Miralax. I found MOM too harsh. Pacing helps but I get exhaust...
