New hope for Alzheimers treatment? At least for mice

You know that dizzy feeling you get when,
after lying down for an extended period,
you stand up a little too quickly?

That feeling is caused by
a sudden reduction of blood flow to the brain,
a reduction of around 30 percent.
Now imagine living every minute of every day with that level of decreased blood flow.

People with Alzheimer's disease don't have to imagine it.
The existence of cerebral blood flow reduction
in Alzheimer's patients has been known for decades,
but the exact correlation to impaired cognitive function
 is less understood.

"What we've done is identify the cellular mechanism that
causes reduced brain blood flow in Alzheimer's disease models, which is
neutrophils [white blood cells] sticking in capillaries," Schaffer said.

This pill for erectile dysfunction does increase blood flow to the brain.
It probably does nothing to prevent white blood cells from sticking to the wall of the artery in the brain.
My Neurologist agreed there were some studies using this type of drug but no one suggests patients use it.
He said the blood flow is decreased because the brain is functioning less.
I don't know if he saw the article above from Feb 2019?

Three pills a week seemed to cause a mild headache so I have cut the frequency to once a week.
This morning my headache is worse and more constant despite recently increasing the interval of the Cialis.
My last Cialis was 6 days ago.

It causes me to wonder if the headache is more a result of the concussion I had back on March 29

Last year a KUMC physician told me they were doing a trial with Enhanced Extracorporeal Counterpulsation for Alzheimers.
