My CAC increased in 2016. I may repeat it after a 5 year interval next year.
The phenomenon of CAC increasing while on statins
is why I think people should check their CIMTs to see if your treatment is failing.
I am diabetic which many consider the root cause of cardiovascular disease.
My Hgb A1c usually runs above 7.0, but my CIMT has not gotten worse.
