Loss of self identity in Alzheimers

This is the epilogue of my first book:

I am waiting for when I forget I have Alzheimers

When does a AZ patient lose their identity?

For me I am hoping it is at least 5 years away.

I have more hope after my 3 month trip as of 10-19-19.

There maybe some self-awareness of the terrible moment of loss of self

as there good days and bad days.
